  • Reporting official statistics
  • Socio-economic and environmental impact assessments

Challenge the practice is addressing: To allow for eco-friendly, non-invasive geophysical surveys, specifically surveys that have a lower carbon footprint compared with any other existing mineral exploration technologies.

Concrete practice to achieve the expected goal: The sensor-based Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology allows for a comprehensive image of a potential deposit area thus eliminating more traditional invasive exploration methods.

Expected impact/goal of the practice: Especially during the summer months when the UAV can run on solar energy, it offers a minimal carbon footprint and is much cheaper than traditional exploration technologies.

Who is the target user group of the practice/intervention or implementing the practice/intervention? Industry
