Challenge the practice is addressing: To review existing legislation, environmental health and safety controls to be considered at the research and development stage for SCALE processes.

Concrete practice to achieve the expected goal: The main hazards forseen are exposure to certain gases, liquids and solids during processing/in case of accidents and generation of minor waste streams (solid, liquid, air). Existing legislation related to Occupational Health & Safety and waste/environmental quality have been reviewed. Please see pp 27- 41 for the review.
