  • Permitting processes / policy integration
  • Reporting official statistics
  • Socio-economic and environmental impact assessments

Challenge the practice is addressing: Eldorado works to incorporate sustainability into its operations and sets ambitious targets for sustainability performance, management, and governance each year.

Concrete practice to achieve the expected goal: Eldorado achieved another year with no deaths or significant environmental or social problems in 2021. Eldorado has also advanced its sustainability management systems and conformance with the RGMPs. Despite not meeting their performance goals for the total recordable injury frequency rate and lost-time injury frequency rate, this highlights the need for increased attention on fostering a culture of safety before all else and proactive health and safety management through workforce engagement and leading indicators.
