Challenge the practice is addressing: This practice addresses the carbon reduction targets of Lafarge Granulats in France to reduce their impact on the environment.

Concrete practice to achieve the expected goal: The group has adopted carbon reduction targets compatible with the Paris agreements and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Lafarge Granulats contributes to this target and targets in particular emissions linked to transport, the main source of CO2 in the aggregates business (-20%). Furthermore, quarries offer many opportunities to recover and recycle inert construction waste, whether in the context of site redevelopment but also, whenever possible, in the recycling of materials collected.

Expected impact/goal of the practice: This practice aims to reduce the impact on the environment and enhance positive impact on biodiversity and water.

Who is the target user group of the practice/intervention or implementing the practice/intervention? This practice is for companies in the extractive industry.
