Challenge the practice is addressing: The aim of the document is to share best practices for mineral exploration activities. The practices will consider socioeconomic and environmental aspects as well as the newest technology. The practices defined will then be implemented to the project reference sites in Spain, Germany and Finland.
Concrete practice to achieve the expected goal: The deliverable summarises best practices and goals that should be considered in exploration activities. It does so by acknowledging Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum’s definition of best practices in exploration and introduces a set of 1) technical 2) social 3) environmental good practice guidelines which are then tailored to fit the scope of the project through reference sites in some EU member states.
Expected impact/goal of the practice: To produce best-practice guidelines for industry to be implemented to their exploration activities. The guidelines are meant to provide the INFACT WP4 reference sites with adequate information on how to improve their activities.
Who is the target user group of the practice/intervention or implementing the practice/intervention? The target group of the document is industry. Initially, the guidelines are for INFACT WP4 reference mining sites in Spain, Germany and Finland but they can be implemented in other mining projects (with revisions), as well.
