Challenge the practice is addressing: MIREU Tool 4.3 Grievance Mechanism provides a template for the company to follow when planning to implement grievance mechanisms for the citizens and community members affected by a mining project.

Concrete practice to achieve the expected goal: Drawing from ICMM’s, IFC’s and IPIECA’s grievance mechanism guidance, MIREU has developed a simple document a company can use: 1) to understand what a grievance mechanism is, why it should be implemented and what a proper grievance mechanism should include, and 2) to learn what the company itself should consider when implementing one in their projects.

Expected impact/goal of the practice: The expected impact is that the companies looking for guidance on how to implement a functional grievance mechanism would use the template as a guidance summary and a checklist when planning their own grievance mechanisms.

Who is the target user group of the practice/intervention or implementing the practice/intervention? The practice is aimed at companies
